Step beyond the typical visitor experience and discover everyday life in the Arctic through the eyes of a local. On this unique cultural tour, you'll explore the small village of Jockfall before being welcomed into the home of a local resident for one of Sweden's most cherished traditions – a Swedish fika.
As you stroll through the village, your guide shares stories about Jockfall's history, the surrounding landscape and the way of life that has shaped this community for generations. The journey continues with a visit to a local home, where you'll enjoy coffee, homemade treats and genuine conversation. Hear personal stories about growing up in northern Sweden, life through the changing seasons and what it means to call this remote corner of the Arctic home.
This is an authentic meeting between people. It's a chance to ask questions, exchange stories and experience the warm hospitality that defines Heart of Lapland. For many visitors, these personal encounters become the most meaningful memories of their journey.
If weather conditions allow, you'll travel through the village on a traditional Swedish kick sled, a charming and much-loved way for locals to get around during the snowy winter months. It's a fun experience in itself and offers another glimpse into everyday life in Arctic Sweden.
The experience begins at the family-run Jockfall Fishing & Activities, where the Landin family has welcomed guests for generations. Their deep local roots and passion for sharing the region create an experience that feels personal, genuine and far removed from ordinary sightseeing.
The tour lasts approximately 2–3 hours and departs from the Jockfall reception.
