When people hear the word history, many immediately think of wars, kings, and dates they learned at school. But a place is made of the things people remember, pass on, and carry with them in everyday life.

Story of Place is a museum for stories, phenomena, places, trends, and events that may not have found a place in the history books, but still say something important about life here. Its content is built on contributions we have received from people who live here.

We hope the museum can become a shortcut for people like you who are visiting us, a shortcut to the soul and heart of Lapland.

Do you have something that would belong here? It does not matter when it happened or how many people it affected, as long as it is a story that moves people.

Don't be a stranger!
