Try the traditional way of catching whitefish in Kukkola village, dating back to the 1500s. Step out on the “pata” – a wooden pier that is rebuilt every summer – with your dipnet that sits at the end of a 6-meter-long handle. A good fisherman needs to know the resting places of the fish as well as have strength to fish for hours at a time. Learn the special fishing technique together with a guide. The fishing season starts at the end of May and finishes in September.
