Rantajärvi Wilderness offers sauna experiences on the Arctic Circle. Rejuvenate in a hot wood heated sauna and opt between the lake sauna in the village Rantajärvi or the Naarajärvi wilderness sauna. Sauna experiences are suitable for children aged 6 years or older, accompanied by adults.

Naarajärvi wilderness sauna

Relax in a wilderness sauna by the lake Naarajärvi, 6 km from Rantajärvi. The wood heated timbered sauna sits right by the lake and this is the perfect place to retreat, relax and enjoy the surrounding nature, while embracing the hot steam and the lake water.

Naarajärvi wilderness camp is off the grid, which means that there is no running water or electricity. Hot water is heated up in the sauna in a water heater that you can use to wash yourself afterwards. There is also an outhouse, barbecue hut and dining cabin on the campground. During autumn and winter, the camp is lighted with kerosene lamps.

The sauna has room for 10 persons and the dining cabin seats up to 16 persons along two tables with a view over the lake.

Lake sauna

Enjoy a wood heated timbered sauna on the shore of lake Rantajärvi, just 100 meters from the cabins. Here you can enjoy lake views and take a refreshing dip in the lake, which has a sandy beach and two dressing cabins. During autumn and winter, the area is lighted with kerosene lamps.

Right next to the sauna is a wood-fired barbecue hut with equipment for preparing a meal, which you can combine with your sauna experience.

The sauna sits 10 persons, and the barbecue hut can accommodate up to 15 persons.
