Welcome to the worlds largest restaurant!
In Sweden, naturally healthy food can be found just around the corner – in our forests, lakes and meadows. That’s why Visit Sweden have created the world’s largest gourmet restaurant: the Edible Country, with 13 tables from north to south.
The table in Liehittäjä is located on an old Sámi reindeer corral about 15 minutes walk from the Huuva Hideaway Lodge, close to the border of Finland and Sweden and between Övertorneå and Överkalix.
A do-it-yourself outdoor dining experience
Decide which table and natural landscape you would like to explore and make a reservation. Your reservation includes a seat at the table, inspiring local recipes and a kit with basic supplies to help prepare your findings and prepare a delicious experience.
While foraging, eating and drinking in nature is fun, it can also be a bit of a challenge. For a truly fulfilling experience, we recommend you book an add-on. A local foraging guide, a professional chef, bartender or comfortable accommodation nearby will make your visit all the more memorable.
The Drinkable Country
Swedish nature offers a sensational flavour palette – perfect for mixing fantastic drinks. In collaboration with Sweden’s most prominent beverage experts, Visit Swede have developed creative drink recipes based on local ingredients to help you explore Sweden’s nature in a tasteful fashion.
In Liehittäjä you’ll find one of the worlds five most remote Bars, a do it yourself-bar in the middle of the forest.
